What a delicious Cajun recipe! You can do it in less than 30 minutes!
Servings Per Container: 4
Ingredients
- 1 pound Large shrimp (peeled and painted)
- Kosher salt and fresh cracked black pepper (to taste)
- 1 teaspoon Cajun seasoning (or Creole seasoning)
- 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
- 2 tablespoons of olive oil
- 6 ounces andouille sausage or smoked sausage (thinly sliced)
- 10 ounces fettuccine pasta
- ½ yellow onion (thinly sliced)
- 1 red bell pepper (thinly sliced)
- 4 teaspoons Cajun seasoning (or Creole seasoning)
- 1 teaspoon brown sugar
- 2-3 cloves of garlic (minced)
- ½ cup chopped tomatoes
- 1 cup sodium-free chicken stock
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 2/3 cup grated parmesan
- 1 tablespoon parsley (minced)
instructions
- Throw the prawns with salt, pepper, Cajun and oregano seasoning, and cover well. Heat a large frying pan over medium heat and drizzle the bottom of the pan with olive oil.
- Add shrimp and cook for 2 minutes. Turn the shrimp over and cook another minute or two. Then remove onto a plate and set aside. Sprinkle a small amount of olive oil in the pan, add the sausage and fry until it is well caramelized, about 4 to 5 minutes. Remove from stove, set aside.
- Add the paste to salted boiling water and cook until tender.
