instructions
- Peel the carrot first. You can even round the edges to look more like a real hot dog.
- Put a pan of water to boil and add the carrots. Cook until the carrots are tender.
- In the meantime, prepare the marinade.
- In the mixing bowl or mason jar, add soy sauce, apple cider vinegar, vegetable broth, maple syrup, liquid smoke, yellow mustard, onion powder and garlic powder. Stir well.
- Once your carrot has cooked, transfer it to a pan or pan that is long enough. Pour the marinade over the carrots. Cover. Leave to marinate overnight or for several hours.
- * note: I made them without marinating the carrots. Instead, I added some marinade to the pan and cooked the carrots. They turn out delicious in this way, however, I would recommend marinating the first few times you make it.
- Preheat a grill or pan
- Cook the carrot just like a regular hot dog. The only difference is that you want to use the remaining marinade to crush the carrots while cooking.
- Once your carrots are soft (don’t fall apart) and have good grills / marks remove them from the fire.
- Add carrots to your favorite hotdog buns, just as you would like a hot dog and cut into those toppings!
