SLOW COOKER CILANTRO LIME CHICKEN TACOS









These chicken and lime tacos are delicious and easy to make! Dishes from five ingredients that can be cooked in a few minutes and cook all day in a slow cooker!



Servings 8 Servings



Ingredients


  • 2 pounds skinless, boneless chicken breasts (fresh or frozen)

  • 1 packet of taco seasoning packet (I use low sodium)

  • 1 16 oz. Salsa jar (use your favorite; I used a local Texas brand)

  • 1/3 cup chopped fresh cilantro

  • two lime juice

instructions


  1. Place chicken breasts on the bottom of your slow cooker. Sprinkle the taco seasoning on top, then cover with salsa, lime juice and cilantro.

  2. Put the lid on top and cook for four hours at high temperature or 6-7 hours at low. Remove the chicken from the pan into a separate bowl and chop with two forks. Moisten the chicken with a little juice left from the slow cooker until you get the desired amount of moisture. I used about 1/2 to 3/4 cups of juice.

  3. Serve with taco shells or tortillas, adding your favorite toppings. I like to use chopped salad, diced tomatoes, diced avocado, cheese, sour cream, and even drizzling sauce. Enjoy it!
