These chicken and lime tacos are delicious and easy to make! Dishes from five ingredients that can be cooked in a few minutes and cook all day in a slow cooker!
Servings 8 Servings
Ingredients
- 2 pounds skinless, boneless chicken breasts (fresh or frozen)
- 1 packet of taco seasoning packet (I use low sodium)
- 1 16 oz. Salsa jar (use your favorite; I used a local Texas brand)
- 1/3 cup chopped fresh cilantro
- two lime juice
instructions
- Place chicken breasts on the bottom of your slow cooker. Sprinkle the taco seasoning on top, then cover with salsa, lime juice and cilantro.
- Put the lid on top and cook for four hours at high temperature or 6-7 hours at low. Remove the chicken from the pan into a separate bowl and chop with two forks. Moisten the chicken with a little juice left from the slow cooker until you get the desired amount of moisture. I used about 1/2 to 3/4 cups of juice.
- Serve with taco shells or tortillas, adding your favorite toppings. I like to use chopped salad, diced tomatoes, diced avocado, cheese, sour cream, and even drizzling sauce. Enjoy it!
